On August 8, 2020, Loong Lions Basketball Club, a branch company of Nenking Group, announces that Guo Shiqiang, a former CBA-champion head coach, will join the club as its new HC. “I’m thrived to join Loong Lions, let’s rock and roll and fear nothing together!” said Coach Guo. Throughout his coaching career, Guo has rich experience and outstanding records, reaching over a 65% win rate overall, leading Team Liaoning to a 9-time playoffs’ appearance and 4-time finals’ appearance and helping the team win the CBA title in the 2017-18 season.

When receiving an interview from CCTV, Guo says that multiple CBA clubs contacted him after he left Qingdao. The reason why he chooses Loong Lions is because both of them share similar ideas and attitudes on how to build the team, and the club had long-term goals. Plus, Loong Lions’ players are young and bouncing.
