The Closing Ceremony

On the evening of December 20, 2021, The GBA International Sports & Cultural Center was ablaze with lights and crowded with a galaxy of talents. The closing ceremony and award ceremony of The 1st China Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition were held here at this marvelous venue after three days of fierce competition. Zhang Jinan, party secretary and Minister of the Ministry of human resources and social security, announced the closure of the competition, and Ma Xingrui, deputy secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and governor of Guangdong Province, delivered a closing speech. Tang Tao, member of the Party group and vice minister of the Ministry of human resources and social security and director of the National Postdoctoral Management Committee, and Wang Xi, vice governor of Guangdong Province, attended the closing ceremony and presented awards to the representatives of winners. Nearly 2,000 people participated in the ceremony, including the heads of the Organizing Committee and executive committee member units, the participating teams, contestants, evaluation experts, representatives of strategic partners, competition support units and media partners.

The Awarding Ceremony

It is reported that this competition is the largest, highest-level and widest-covered national postdoctoral innovation and entrepreneurship competition held since the implementation of China’s postdoctoral system, which can be seen as an intensive display of the country’s postdoctoral career development achievements, a grand event of high-level talent and academic exchange, as well as a platform for linking sophisticated scientific research achievements and industrial development. Opened in December 18th, the competition was themed by “Utilizing the essence of technology to lead the future”. There were four categories for different themed events and about 1,400 projects wrestled with each other online and offline. After an intensified contest amongst various delegations across the country, the competition gave birth to 57 gold awards, 91 silver awards and 125 bronze awards.
