On November 4, 2021, the delegation of Consulate General of France in Guangzhou visits Foshan International Sports & Cultural Center, a comprehensive venue built by Nenking Group, and communicates with Zhong Naixiong, honorary president of board of directors of Nenking, as well as Steven Zhong, CEO of Nenking Esports.
The consulate’s delegation is stellar as it includes M.Sylvain Fourriere, consul-general; M.Joachim Boittout, consular officer of the culture sector; LUO Juan, investment director of the business investment sector; M.Pascal Millard, consular officer of the economy sector; and Wang Jingyu, principal researcher of the economy sector.
In recent years, Nenking has been dynamic in sports investment. In April, 2020, it officially acquired the time-honored FC Sochaux-Montbéliard. Thus, before the visit kicks off, Nenking plays a video clip featured this football club for the delegation as an appetizer. Afterwards, the delegation starts the tour around the venue and visits Nenking Esports Center.
The Herbalife X Nenking Esports Center covers an area of 3,600 square meters. It stands right on the Foshan International Sports & Cultural Center that was built by Nenking back in 2018 at a cost of 2 billion, with a total floor area of 155,000 square meters. Nenking Esports, known as a rising star in the esports field, has acquired two top-level franchises in the past few years and won a title of the OWL Summer Showdown. At present, the company is trying to build a sustainable business model for esports and will mainly focus on developing its own franchise, home venue, event brand and education for the future ahead.
M.Sylvain Fourriere, the consul-general, listens with great interest to the introduction on Nenking Esports. At the end of the meeting, he gives a hand-picked bottle of wine to President Zhong as a gift, while Steven Zhong gifts a jersey representing both FC Sochaux-Montbéliard and Nenking Esports back to him.
